Media Center Policies

Welcome to MWES Media Center

We strive to support and empower students to become lifelong learners and readers.

Checkout Procedures

  • Students in K-1 will be allowed one book per check out.
  • Students in grades 2 – 5 may borrow up to 2 books check out.
  • All students must return their media contract before they can check out books to go home. Students will not be able to checkout any books if they have any lost or overdue books.

Lost/Damaged Books

During the school year, the students learn about the how to take care of their books.  Should a book be accidentally damaged, please do not try to repair it yourself. Return it to the media center staff and tell us what happened. We will try to repair the damage using professional book repair materials and techniques. If the damage cannot be repaired you will be responsible for the cost of replacing the damaged book. Should a book become lost while in your child’s possession, he/she will be held responsible for paying for the book or supplying an exact copy back to the media center (ex. replace a paperback with a paperback or a hardback with a hardback).
